About Us
Wedding Experience is a wedding planning event and expo in the Washington, Richmond, and Baltimore regions. The show has a rich history that dates back to 1995. The company was founded to bring together wedding professionals and engaged couples. Today, we support exhibitors and brides by providing a convenient platform to evaluate each other, service options, styles, and trends.
The first event took place in 1995 at the EagleBank Arena (then known as the Patriot Center). The event was an immediate success, attracting thousands of attendees. Since then, Wedding Experience has continued to grow, hosting multiple events throughout the year in different locations.
Now, Wedding Experience is entering an exciting new chapter.
Today’s couples plan weddings differently than they did even a few years ago. Inspiration is everywhere. They discover ideas on social media, research vendors online, read reviews, follow trends, compare options, and arrive with a much clearer sense of what they love, but often with an overwhelming number of choices.
The new Wedding Experience is being reimagined for the way today’s couples actually plan and shop for their weddings.
Rather than simply walking rows of exhibitor booths, guests will be invited to explore, experience, taste, discover, learn, and connect. The show will bring wedding planning to life through curated experiences, emerging trends, inspiration, educational opportunities, and meaningful conversations with talented wedding professionals.
Our goal is to make Wedding Experience a place where couples don’t just collect information, instead they make progress on their wedding.
For wedding professionals, that evolution creates something equally important: an opportunity to engage with couples in a more meaningful way. Wedding Experience is designed to help businesses showcase not only what they sell, but what makes them different … their creativity, expertise, personality, and the experience they can bring to a couple’s wedding day.
As Wedding Experience moves into its next generation, we are building on more than 30 years of history while creating something distinctly forward-looking: a modern wedding planning experience that connects inspiration with expertise and helps couples turn ideas into a celebration that feels entirely their own.

Meet Our Team
Leslie Amason
Leslie is multi-passionate and creative in the design arena: fashion, interior, and events. With a fashion degree from Winthrop University and over 35 years of experience in the world of design, she has worked with, and for, private individuals, global corporations, non-profits, PGA and corporate golf tournaments, annual conferences and weddings. Having been with Ampa Events for a total of 12 years, her goal is to provide a distinctive design that creates a wow factor while exceeding all expectations. Leslie is a member of The Tuckahoe Women’s Club and The Richmond Symphony League.
Leslie is multi-passionate and creative in the design arena: fashion, interior, and events. With a fashion degree from Winthrop University and over 35 years of experience in the world of design, she feels that every bride and groom has a unique story to tell. Whether it is the parents of the bride, an honorary pet, or the flower girl that won’t go down the aisle, Leslie has a calmness and southern belle grace that makes every detail of a wedding flawless. Born and raised in Richmond, she is a member of The Tuckahoe Women’s Club and The Richmond Symphony League.
Ted Rubis
Ted Rubis is traveled, learned, cultured and experienced. A doer and problem solver, Ted is equally comfortable in a Tuxedo or Coveralls – building stage sets in the shop, attending a black tie gala, or working with executives, committee members, and brides with exquisite taste. Book knowledge from business school combined with over 30 years of experience producing events for a broad mix of clients including brides, Ted brings a rich and diverse skill set to the wedding expo business including an acute understanding of the details to execute complex events, design, fabrication, and technical expertise. Guided by an education heavy in marketing and finance, and reinforced by years of observing and analyzing the results of real-life corporate programming, Ted is a firm believer in developing a rapport with potential clients through face-to-face interaction. In an ever-increasing digital world, meeting clients and connecting as people gives businesses a distinct advantage in securing new clients.
